Chief Secy Reviews Rath Yatra Preparations, Sets June 30 Deadline For Completion Of Works

Anu Garg, the chief secretary of Odisha, presided over a high-level review conference on Tuesday to evaluate the preparations for the yearly Rath Yatra in Puri and instructed all departments to finish the remaining tasks by June 30 in order to guarantee the event runs well. Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hemant Sharma, Chief Administrator and Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue and Disaster Management) Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Director General of Fire Services Dr. Sudhanshu Sarangi, senior government secretaries, police officers, and district administration officials from Puri, attended the meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan.

 

Garg reviewed the choices made at a previous meeting in April and stressed the need of finishing all preparations in time for the July 16 Shree Gundicha Yatra. To make sure that preparations are finished in a coordinated and effective manner, she added, frequent evaluations are carried out. The SJTA told the gathering that the building of the chariots is going according to schedule and that Puri would get the necessary lumber for all three chariots in the allotted period. Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh and Puri Collector Divyajyoti Parida gave thorough updates on the state of several preparation projects.

 

The Chief Secretary examined parking facilities, temporary sanitary infrastructure, drinking water supply, electricity arrangements, transportation management, crowd control strategies, and law-and-order preparations in addition to road repair projects connecting Puri and the Grand Road (Bada Danda). The relevant departments received the necessary instructions.
