The projected land reform program, bolstering citizen-centric governance, accelerating budget expenditure, and enhancing revenue collection were among the top concerns examined by the Odisha Revenue Department. Under the direction of Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, key departmental officers met at Lok Seva Bhawan to explore ways to improve the effectiveness of the upcoming land reforms and guaranty that residents receive services on time.

 

Ensuring appropriate and timely utilization of financial allotments for developmental initiatives was another major emphasis of the conference. Senior officials discussed ways to improve the department’s overall performance and increase the effectiveness of revenue collection. Dr. Padhee recognized S.K. Jamiruddin, Special Secretary in the Revenue Department, as the “Performer of the Month” during the meeting. Additionally, Dr. Padhee emphasized the recent remedial actions taken by the State Government to align the English spelling of place names with the phonetic features of the Odia language. In addition to enhancing the accuracy of administrative records, he characterized the endeavor as a significant step toward maintaining linguistic history and identity.

 

In addition to improving revenue management, the officers emphasized the necessity of concerted efforts to make the department’s operations more effective, open, responsible, and people-oriented. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department recognizes exceptional officers on a monthly basis in an effort to promote greater dedication to public service and inspire officials to carry out their duties with diligence.
