Due to the upper air cyclonic circulation over the North Bay of Bengal off the shores of West Bengal and Bangladesh, a low-pressure region has developed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and its surroundings. The system formed today, August 23, around 5:30 AM, according to the IMD. Up to August 24, squally weather with winds of 40–50 kmph with gusts of up to 60 kmph is most expected to persist across the northwest and adjacent west-central Bay of Bengal, as well as along and off the shores of West Bengal, Odisha, and North Andhra Pradesh.

 

Sea condition is very likely to be rough to very rough over Northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and along and off West Bengal, adjoining Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh coasts till August 24. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the Northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, along and off West Bengal-Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh coasts till August 24.
