Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrates the completion of six years of Digital India wherein a virtual event he stated that the data and demographic dividend combined with India’s proven tech prowess presents a massive opportunity for the country, and exuded confidence that this decade will be India’s techade’.
According to the official reports, PM Modi said that “India is also conscious of its responsibilities as a data powerhouse and noted that work is underway on all aspects of data protection. Data and demographic dividends present a massive opportunity for India. Together, we will be successful in making this decade India’s techade.”
Modi further talked about the beneficiaries of various schemes of the Digital India programme, including Diksha, eNAM, eSanjeevani solution for telemedicine, DigiBunai and PM SVANidhi scheme. He later spoke about the critical role of technology that had played during the covid pandemic which helped the continuity of education, access to healthcare, and other citizen services.
He lastly added that digital solutions created by India during the COVID-19 pandemic are being acknowledged globally and the contact tracing app, Aarogya Setu, has played a key role in containing the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
