PROJECT “SAATHI” AN AFFORDABLE HEALTH INITIATIVE LAUNCHED IN ODISHA

ILPF (Indian Liver Patient Foundation) is a health-based charitable organization of patients, doctors, philanthropists, volunteers, and people from all walks of life who have come forward to assist in the overall effort towards reduction of liver diseases in particular, as well as to promote preventive and holistic health care. SATHI (Shradhanand Affordable Treatment and Health Initiative), a purely nonprofit, charitable initiative was launched on 26th January 2022. SATHI’s first outlet started at 171 (P) Maa Ghara, Bayababa Math Lane, Near Nicco Park, Unit-9, Bhubaneswar, as a pilot project with the ultimate vision to expand to other cities of state and country. The Center located at the heart of the city is consists of a medicine shop, waiting lounge (air-conditioned), help desk, medical consultation chamber, basic amenities, and ILPF State office.

This concept was the brainchild of former health secretary of India PK Hota (IAS) and Dr Ashok Choudhury and was supported by great technology tycoon and philanthropist Dan Mishra from Canada. The good quality medicine of reputed brands will be available through SATHI outlets and the first one was inaugurated today by M Akshay (IPS) former DG fire services. Guest of honor Padmashree Prof Subrat Acharya highly praised this initiative by saying that this will reduce the health burden of an individual in a country like India, particularly when most were not insured and cannot afford the wellness services too. Senior bureaucrat Ajay Nayak, social activist Reena Routray and Suresh Kamani lauded the effort also thanked the reputed labs of the city i.e. SRL, Genix, and Nidaan coming forward to help the needy. Gopal Dhal (IRS) principal commissioner of income tax and Dr Madan Mohan Sethi (IFS) Consul General of Hochiminh, Vietnam graced the occasion virtually and appreciated the effort by a team of 35 doctors from all specialties, yoga professionals (Dr Dinesh and Dr Pratibhashree), nutrition consultants ( Sushree Sangeeta and Laxmipriya), physiotherapist ( Dr Anima, Dr Kiran, and Dr Gopal), mindfulness practitioner Anindita for their free service and time despite their busy schedule for the society.

On an inaugural day, the free clinic was conducted by Dr Ashok Choudhury and was smoothly organized by the in-charge Dr Susmita Behera. At the last, Dan Mishra dedicated this facility of SATHI to the public and was overwhelmed by the love and affection of team ILPF. He mentioned his special thanks to Chairman Dr Bishnuriya Sahoo, project SATHI in charge of Er Umakant Pani and the team. Col Swain, Prashant Mohanty, Chinmayee, Madhusmita, Rosy, Manoj, Bimal Dash, Bijay Khatua, Suryanarayan, Bibek coordinated the program well.

The program ended with an invitation to you all for a complete package of holistic health to convert “Illness to Wellness”. With the blessings of the almighty and good wishes of our beneficiaries, in the next five years, SATHI should have its footprint in all towns and cities of Odisha as well as major medical hubs across the country as said by K N Biswal. How to Register as an associate member

1. Kindly find the link www.ilpfsathi.in or download the app (iSATHI) from the Google play store.

2. Fill in the basic details about yourself, provide consent and validate your phone number by OTP. Our volunteer will contact you.

3. Pay the nominal fee of Rs 50 for ILPF associate membership as advised by our volunteer. Your membership is thereafter activated. After the first purchase, 20 rupees will be refunded.

4. Your registered mobile number will receive the unique ID and you will get a message as well the membership certificate as pdf link in SMS and your registered email.

5. You can obtain medicines from the SATHI store by producing medical documents/prescriptions as well as avail of other value-added services.
