One of his seminal works, ‘Odia – Eka Sastriya Bhasa,’ stood as an exhaustive documentation of the historical studies and growth that led to the classical status of the Odia language. Released in 2013, the same year when Odia received its classical language status from the central government, the book brought him the prestigious President’s Certificate of Honour in 2019.

An Advocate for Odia in Education

Dr Mishra’s passion extended beyond his pen; he strongly advocated for the use of Odia in the foundational learning of students. Firmly rooted in research, he highlighted the cognitive benefits of mother tongue education. His vision aligned with the new education policy’s principles of regional language learning, and he ardently urged its proper implementation to realize the National Education Policy’s goals.

“The education system should prioritize the use of Odia language in foundational learning to nurture proper cognitive development,” the esteemed author expressed.
