On Monday, the Orissa High Court granted anticipatory bail to five police officers from the Bharatpur police station, including Inspector-in-Charge Dinakrushna Mishra, who had been suspended due to the alleged attack of an Indian Army officer and his fiancée. According to reports, the IIC of the five officers of the Bharatpur police station reportedly went to the Orissa High Court to get anticipatory release in an effort to avoid being arrested and maybe prosecuted.

In the meantime, a forensic lab in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, performed lie detector tests on the IIC of the Bharatpur police station, one of the five officers. Prior to taking them to Gujarat, a three-person Crime Branch team had requested permission from the SDJM court in Bhubaneswar. IIC Dinkrushna Mishra was subjected to a narco test, brain mapping, and polygraph since he was facing significant allegations. Polygraph tests were administered to the four police officers who were still present at the police station that fatal night.

It is important to remember that on September 14th, after going to the police station to report road rage, the Army soldier and his fiancée reportedly suffered abuse at the hands of the police. The cops reportedly tortured the officer and his female buddy instead of attending to their concerns.
