Bharti Airtel to offer specialized products for multiple business segments as it launches its new cloud portfolio on Thursday and plans to roll out 5G services in the country.
The new cloud services fall under the Edge Cloud Portfolio and include Edge content delivery networks (CDNs). Airtel Cloud’s Edge CDN accelerates delivery of web and video content by leveraging the edge network to bring content as close to the user as possible. This reduces latency, costs and server load, making it easier for companies to focus on app performance for his OTT, education tech, gaming and healthcare sectors.
Airtel is currently working with two of India’s largest OTT companies and others on the platform. Airtel said it will leverage edge cloud application developer Qwilt’s “Open Edge Cloud” solution for the deployment.
Airtel recently became the first company to test its own private network at the Bosch plant in Bengaluru. Further, Airtel is also rolling out edge computing services to its customers.
