All the sea beaches in Ganjam of Odisha will remain closed from January 12 to January 17 as informed District Administration.
As per the District Administration, the sea beaches including Gopalpur, Sonapur and other major water bodies will remain closed till January 17, 2022. The decision was taken in order to avoid large gatherings during upcoming festivals and to ensure COVID-19 protocol.
The Ganjam collector has asked the people through Twitter handle to maintain ‘SMS- Sanitizer, Mask & Social Distancing’ and has also said” let’s get vaccinated to keep ourselves and our family safe and healthy.”
The official Twitter of Collector and District Magistrate of Ganjan Tweeted- “ In Order to avoid large gathering during upcoming festivals and to ensure COVID-19 protocol, all sea beaches in Ganjam such as Gopalpur, Sonapur, etc. & other major water bodies shall remain closed for public from 13th to 17th Jan’22.”
Ganjam reported 106 new Covid positive cases on January 13 and there are 447 active cases in the district as of now.
