IPL Foundation organized the Amrit Internship orientation program on Wednesday at IPL Dhenkanal Sugar Unit. Under this, the work of making the farmers associated with IPL Sugar Mill, Dhenkanal aware and train the youth to do progressive farming has been started. Under this program, 50 identified young men and women will collect information about farmers involved in agricultural work in their surrounding areas for three months and will also gather experience of the agricultural sector during their training. During the three month training, each trainee will also be provided a monthly allowance of Rs 6000 every month.
The one-day orientation program was organized to train the youth about the program, in which IPL Foundation’s Senior Advisor Dr. Rajiv Ranjan (Retired, IAS), Shri Durga Prasad Dwivedi General Manager, Shri U.S. Tewatia (Chief Manager, IPL), Shri Subrata Padhi (District Agriculture Officer, Dhenkanal), Shri Bimalendu Mohanty (Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhenkanal), Dr. Jyotirekha Patnaik (Incharge, Sugarcane Research Center), Shri Santosh Kumar Das (Head IPL Dhenkanal Sugar Unit), Shri Rajesh Singh (Head, Sugarcane Department, IPL Dhenkanal Sugar Unit), Shimati Nandini Roy (Mentor IPL Foundation), Shri Abhay Tripathi (Secretary, Rise Foundation) were present.
Initial kits and training material were also distributed to the youth in the program. On this occasion, the entire team of IPL Foundation was present in this orientation program.
IPL Foundation is running Amrit Internship Training Program from the year 2022 to promote youth of the country in agriculture sector and rural development. Its main objective is to get information related to agriculture at the community level by connecting with the farmer brothers involved in agricultural work in the rural area. For this work, 12th pass, diploma or graduate youth have been associated. In this three month training work, the youth are made to study the agriculture sector, in which they get academic education as well as agricultural experience in the private sector, each intern gets information from 100 farmers during the three month training and gets acquainted with the real situation of agricultural work.
The main objective of the program is to make efforts to increase the business skills of the youth among the farmers and promote employment.
