His entrepreneurial journey has an intriguing anecdote. Rajkumar Routray(An Entrepreneur worth His Salt), the current CMD of healthcare-focused firm Prince International Ltd was in Australia. It was the legendary leader Biju Patnaik who inspired him to come back to Odisha and start his business unit in the state.
Thus, he(An Entrepreneur worth His Salt) began the humble effort to float Prince International Ltd with eminent thrust on double fortified salt to combat anemia and malnutrition with a single stroke.
Rautray(An Entrepreneur worth His Salt) hails from a family of freedom fighters in Puri, Odisha. His Father Late Prasanna Kumar Routray is a renowned eminent police officer of the State.
Routray had entered in the Industrial activities related to Health & Nutrition since 1989 and presently holding the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Prince International Health Care Pvt Ltd, one of the leading Businesses House of India engaged in the field of manufacturing of Fortified Salt (Iron + Iodine) which is the pioneer unit of the country.
The main aim of Routray is to Reduce Malnutrition in the tribal belts of India and to control the Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA) and the Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) which is most prevalent among women and children.
“We are blessed to have benefited from the vision of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. He named our company OD Foods. Our only focus is on fortified food. We are on a mission to eradicate anemia and malnutrition. Odisha has been the pioneer state in this regard”, Routray said.
Prince International has manufacturing facilities at Patrapada (Bhubaneswar) within Bhagabanpur industrial estate and also at Bengaluru and Tuticorin (Tamil Nadu).
The product has been tested and approved by the National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad under ICMR, New Delhi and also by Food & Nutrition Board laboratory under Women & Child Development Department, Govt of India & FSSAI.
The company has all infrastructural facilities with the plant capacity to produce 24000 MT per annum. The units are well equipped with a testing laboratory to check the quality control at every stage of production.
The product has been used as one of the nutritional components for ICDS / MDM beneficiaries in India for the prevention and control of Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA) and Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD).
Prince International Healthcare Ltd is one of the Pioneer Company in India manufacturing a unique products under the brand name of “Health Salt”, “Swasth Namak”, & “Odi Food” which has been fortified with IODINE+ IRON as per the approved technology of National Institute of Nutrition under Indian Council of Medical Research, Ministry of Health, Govt of India.
This has been certified as a useful measure to control Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA) and Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) required for up-gradation of nutritional status in the society.
The company has entered several MoUs with various State Governments and associate with OSIC, Odisha government to supply Fortified Salt under various Nutrition Programmes.
The company is producing Double Fortified Salt as per BIS & FSSAI standard for Iron & Iodine content.
