In developing sports infrastructure, particularly for hockey in the state, Australia agreed to extend its cooperation to the Odisha government.
While in a video conference with chief minister Naveen Patnaik, Australia high commissioner Barry O’Farrel AO highly appreciated the efforts of the state government in promoting the Indian hockey team. He accepted the proposal of Odisha CM for extending his country’s support for the development of sports infrastructure, training of sportspersons and promotion of hockey in Odisha.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also highly praised the Australian team during its visit to Bhubaneswar to participate in the Hockey World Cup. Besides sports, CM Patnaik and the high commissioner also discussed further strengthen the cooperation between Australia and Odisha in other sectors like trade, technological skills and mining.
