The Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath commenced on tuesday inside the premises of Shri Siddha Balaram Jew temple in Dhenkanal. However, devotees were barred to witness the yatra due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic and only sevayats, people related to the yatra were allowed to perform the rituals. Prince of Dhenkanal ( Erstwhile Dhenkanal Princely State) Amarjyoti Singhdeo performed the chera pahara niti.
Worth mentioning that the Sidhha Balaram Jew Temple in Dhenkanal dates back to 15th century and here Lord Balaram, Lord Krishna, Devi Subhadra, Devi Rukmini along with Lord Jagannath( In a separate temple inside the premises) are worshipped. After the Bahuda Yatra rituals the Suna besha (Gold attire) ritual was held in the evening inside the temple premises.
