Dikhyaa Mohanty A woman has sustained critical burns after being attacked with acid by her husband here on Monday. The woman, identified as Banita, a native of Bhimpura area in Remuna, has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
According to the reports, Banita got married to one Chandan Rana of Santaragadia village in Oupada tehsil of the district, recently. However, Banita returned to her village and started staying with her sister Barsha after realising that Chandan was already married and has kids.
Today morning, Chandan showed up at Barsha’s house with an acid bottle and threatened Banita to leave the place and come and stay with him. Banita confronted her husband and disapproved of his demand. Following this, in a fit of rage, Chandan threw acid at his Banita.
