By Tuesday night at 11 p.m., 16 districts of Odisha are expected to see rain and lightning, according to the nowcast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Additionally, the state capital of Bhubaneswar has received a warning.
Issuing yellow warning, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning is likely to affect some parts of Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Puri, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sonepur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts during next three hours.
People have been warned to monitor the weather and move to safer locations as necessary to avoid being struck by lightning.
