Bhubaneswar To Have Bhawan In Memory Of Famed Odia Poet Gangadhar Meher

A magnificent bhawan (building) will be built here in memory of the famed Odia poet Gangadhar Meher in Bhubaneswar. In addition to that, the poet’s death centenary which falls in March 2024 will be observed in an appropriate manner. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik assured this to a delegation of Nikhil Odisha Meher (Bhulia) Samaj who met him today at Naveen Nivas. The Chief Minister said that a committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for the purpose.

Swabhab Kavi Gangadhar Meher is the pride and glory of the Odia race. He has enriched Odia language and literature through his timeless literary creations. A delegation of the Nikhil Odisha Meher (Bhulia) Samaj today met the Chief Minister to discuss about observing the great poet’s death centenary.
