Biju Janta Dal (BJD) has announced its support for the Union Minister of Railway, Communication, Electronics & Information Technology in the upcoming Rajya Sabha election.
According to the press release the party decided to support the minister for the larger interest of State’s Railways and Telecom Development” in the ensuing Election to Rajya Sabha – 2024.
While BJD will contest its two candidates for the RS elections; Debashish Samantaray and Subhasish Khuntia till yet. As the BJP has only 22 MPs in the state, it would require the support of BJD to win all three vacant seats in Rajya Sabha.
The BJD leaders also appreciated the work done by the Union Minister for the infrastructural development of the state since he joined office as Union Railway Minister. BJD considers the allocation of 10,000 crore for the East Coast Zone a significant step for the upliftment of Odisha.
