BJP Alleges Poll Code Violation By BJD, Submits Memo To CEO

Today, Golak Mohapatra, the vice-president of the BJP’s state unit, led a delegation of the party to meet with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and present a memorandum claiming a breach of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The party has claimed that, in flagrant violation of MCC, ASHA and Anganwadi personnel are endorsing BJD’s nominee for the Lok Sabha constituency in Berhampur.

The party further claimed that a BLF President had violated MCC by using a conch emblem while campaigning for BJD. The BJP questioned the SC/ST department’s decision to approve an NGO worth Rs 528 crore when the MCC was already in effect. If nothing is done, the BJP has vowed to hold a dharna in front of the CEO’s office.
