State CT (Commercial Tax) and GST (Goods and Services Tax) officials confiscated Rs 5.68 crore on Saturday following a raid on two textile retailers in Boudh.
The raids follow allegations that some textile retailers were selling their goods without issuing invoices or tax invoices to avoid paying taxes.
Officials from the state’s CT and GST enforcement departments simultaneously raided the offices, homes and operating facilities of M/S Singhal on Hospital Road in Boudh and M/S Shree Binayak Textiles on PWD Road.
During the inspection process, officers checked purchase and sale details, storage accounts, and information available on computers, laptops, etc. Physical inventory and other details available on site were collected for cross-checking with the ledger.
