Brajarajnagar bypoll Vote Counting to be held in tight security

Counting of votes for the bypoll for Brajarajnagar Assembly constituency in Jharsuguda district started at Jharsuguda Engineering College from 8 am on Friday. The result will decide the fate of 11 candidates in the fray.

According to the reports, as many as 14 tables have been put in place for the counting. Three staff have been allotted for each table for the counting process which will take place in 20 rounds. Postal ballots will be counted in the first 30 minutes while the counting session for the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will begin from 8.30 am.

Candidates have been allowed to allot agents to supervise the counting process. A counting assistant, a counting supervisor and a micro observer have been allotted in each table. Around 60 counting personnel have been deployed for the 20-round counting purpose. The counting is expected to be finished around 3 pm and the final result will be declared today.

A three-tier security arrangement comprising CRPF, State Armed Police and District Executive Force are in place around the counting centre to prevent any untoward incident during the counting process to ensure smooth and error-free counting of votes.
