His journey began more than 30 years ago with a dream to build a steel company that would not only manufacture products but also become the backbone of modern infrastructure. Incorporated in 1990 as a private limited company, Scan Steels started its commercial operations in 1997 with a single rolling mill at Ramabahal village near Rajgangpur. What began as a small setup soon grew into an integrated steel plant. Through backward and forward integration, the company expanded step by step over the years, a direct reflection of Mr. Gadodia’s persistence and strategic vision.
Under his leadership, Scan Steels embraced innovation and technology at every stage. From pioneering DRI units of smaller capacity in Odisha in 1999 to adopting the globally renowned Tempcore Technology from Belgium for producing TMT bars, the company consistently stayed ahead of the curve. Its flagship brand, Shrishtii TMT, soon became synonymous with strength, trust, and durability, dominating the Odisha market for more than two decades. Alongside, Shrishtii Roofing made its mark in the corrugated sheets segment, diversifying the company’s portfolio. Today, after more than three decades of steady growth, Scan Steels operates with an integrated capacity of nearly 2 lakh tons of TMT and 1.5 lakh tons of Sponge Iron, supported by its own captive power plant that utilizes waste heat from sponge iron kilns, a model of efficiency and sustainability.
For Mr. Gadodia, this 30-year journey was never only about building a company. It was about building a vision for India’s growth. His belief that industry must contribute to nation-building shaped every decision he took. Looking ahead, Mr. Gadodia has set a clear goal—to scale production to 1 million tons by 2029–30, expand market leadership beyond Odisha, and emerge as one of India’s foremost names in TMT manufacturing. Beyond steelmaking, Mr. Gadodia’s three-decade journey has also been about strengthening communities.
