Canara Bank is observing “Canara Bank Dr. Ambedkar Vidya Jyothi Scholarship Scheme” as a Pan India Mega CSR activity on the occasion of 78 th Independence Day Celebration covering all 177 Regional Offices, 26 Circle Offices & 7457 branches. As a part of this, Canara Bank Bhubaneswar Circle also celebrated the same and distributed the scholarship to SC/ST meritorious 1608 girl students covering 268 branches under CSR initiatives.
The scheme is implemented by all rural, semi- Urban and Urban Branches from class V th to X th from SC/ST communities studying in Government / Government aided schools in the command area for scholarship. The Scholarship assistance is Rs.3,000/- per student for 5th to 7th & Rs.5,000/- per student for 8th to 10th.
The CSR inauguration ceremony at Bhubaneswar was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Bimal Prasad Sharma, Director Canara Bank, Shri Dibakar Prasad Harichandan, Dirctor Canara Bank, Shri Laxman Kumar Mallick, Director of SC development, Shri Jagdish Chander, General Manager,Canara Bank, Odisha State Head and Shri Mahamaya Prasad Roy, AGM & Regional Head Bhubaneswar and other Executives from Circle Office & Regional Office.
