CEO Google Sudar Pichai Pledges $150 Million For COVID-19 Vaccine Education & Distribution

Google pledged around $150 million for the equitable distribution of the coronavirus vaccine and promote vaccine education so that all sections of society worldwide can benefit in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

As per the reports, Sundar Pichai, the Alphabet CEO of Google, announced an additional $100 million grant for the World Health Organization (WHO), a CND foundation. The amount was also granted for many other non-profit organizations in different countries.

In an official statement, the CEO of Google stated that they would invest another $50 million in partnership with public health agencies to reach underserved communities with vaccine-related content and information.

He further stated that their efforts would focus mostly on equitable access to the Coronavirus vaccine.  Early data in the US shows that disproportionately affected populations, especially people of colour and those in rural communities, aren’t getting access to the vaccine at the same rates as other groups.

The reports further inform that Google is also ready to allow the administration use of its offices as Coronavirus vaccination centres. Google will soon be opening up Google spaces which will help to serve as vaccination sites as required for the process.
