A Class 10 student allegedly committed suicide by coming in front of a train after being beaten and threatened at his school in Balasore town on Tuesday. Following it, his parents staged a dharna in front of the school demanding action against the Principal and a teacher.
The deceased has been identified as Suraj Gupta (15). He had gone to school on Tuesday but had not returned home. Later, his parents came to know that he had committed suicide by jumping in front of a train.
As per his father Santosh Gupta, a teacher at the school had beat him on September 1. Santosh reported the matter to the Principal but no action was taken in this regard. Where else, the teacher threatened Suraj with ruining his career.
Santosh has filed a complaint in this regard at Sadar Police Station. However, the school Principal refuted the allegations and said it is an attempt to malign the image of the school.
