At the state-level National Panchayati Raj Day celebration on Friday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the construction of a textile park and a sugar factory in Balangir. Participating at the occasion, he emphasized the changing role of Panchayati Raj institutions, stressing their enlarged duties beyond plan execution to encompass grassroots social, economic, and infrastructure development.
Speaking to the assembly, Chief Minister Majhi stressed that Panchayati Raj bodies had done more than only carry out programs. These days, they are at the forefront of social, economic, human welfare, basic infrastructure, and natural resource management. According to Majhi, National Panchayati Raj Day is a day devoted to awakening the inherent potential of rural self-governance and grassroots democracy rather than just a conference or gathering.
He continued by saying that the Panchayati Raj system is currently going through a crucial and significant stage, thirty years after the 73rd Constitutional Amendment. He underlined that this method may be made more dynamic and successful by people’s active involvement and creative thinking alone. He went on to say that the state administration is fully operational under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong and imaginative leadership.
