Odisha Chief Minister informed that the state government aims to bring the poverty in the State down to 10% in the next 5 years. While addressing his party members on the occasion of BJD’s 25th foundation day, he stated that Odisha is leading among all the States in the country in terms of reducing poverty.
According to the reports, the poverty percentage in Odisha has reduced from 63 per cent to 29 per cent with over 8 million people have crossed the poverty line. CM Patnaik further said “It is the blessings of people of Odisha that has turned Biju Janata Dal (BJD) into a movement. The Party doesn’t have any boss. The people of Odisha are its boss. Odisha has received a whooping over Rs 4 lakh crore investments during the Covid-19 pandemic period which is the highest in the country. The Smart Health Card has been able to instil a sense of confidence among the people.”
Further, the report added that the foundation day celebration was attended by leaders including BJD headquarters general secretary Sanjay Das Burma, vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra, organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das and many workers.
