Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has big plans to introduce a “Youth Budget,” a specific budget for the younger generation, in an attempt to turn the next 10 years into a golden age for the general youth. Senior BJD politician and 5T Chairman Karthik Pandian said at a news conference that Odisha will be the first state in the nation to implement a budget of this kind, worth one lakh crore over the next ten years.
“Youth Budget is a new concept that our Chief Minister has introduced. With a futuristic vision, the CM has planned a youth Budget with an aim to empower youth mass. There will be provisions for Higher education, skill development and increasing employment opportunities for them. It will help build a new Odisha. Whatever our Chief Minister touches, he transforms it into gold. Be it Disaster Management, Poverty reduction, Sports, Manufacturing, food production, Women empowerment, Naveen transforms them into gold standards” Pandian said.
He stated that yearly spending will amount to Rs 10,000 crore. The CM has outlined a plan to give the young people access to top-notch facilities. According to the chairman of the 5T, Chief Minister Patnaik wants Odisha to be a leader in every field by the time the state celebrates its centennial in 2036. He noted that the younger generation will make it possible for Odisha to lead and compete with the top states and nations by 2034.
When discussing the reform of schools and colleges, he stated that 8,000 schools and 1,000 colleges have undergone changes that included the addition of top-notch facilities and infrastructure. The process of transformation won’t end. Compared to private schools, government schools now have greater facilities. According to Pandian, Odisha is the best state for skill development. Pandian urged the young to support Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, stating that Patnaik wants to make Odisha a world-class state in ten years.
Hitting out at the BJP’s manifesto, Pandian said “if you see the BJP’s manifesto, you will not find anything for the youth and students. But, the BJD Manifesto has promised the ‘Naveen guarantees’ for the youth, BJD leader said.
