Today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made a historic move by directing the Jatni Khasmahal land dispute to be resolved and giving the populace a record of their rights. It is important to note that during his visit to Khurda, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian heard several concerns from locals regarding land acquisition. The Khasmahal issue in the Jatni tehsil had persisted for a while. The general people informed the 5T Secretary about this issue.
Today’s statements were made at a high-level meeting that was organized after the 5T Secretary notified the CM of the issues. There were several top officials present at the meeting, including the 5T Secretary, Chief Secretary PK Jena, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue Department Satyabrata Sahu, Khurda Collector, and others.
In the meeting, it was decided to give the Khurda Collector three months to find a lasting solution to the land mortgage problem and to give out the leases to the citizens in December. Overall, this will assist 537 households. Similar issues with falling land have existed in Bhubaneswar Tehsil for 60 years. 10,543 cases in various revenue courts are now pending in this respect. The situation will be dealt in accordance with the SOP established by the Revenue Department Task Force about this abandoned site, it was determined during the meeting.
