CMGI Holds Orientation On ORTPSA, Ama Sathi WhatsApp Bot In Bhubaneswar

Members of the ICC Women Entrepreneurship Council (INWEC) were given an orientation on the Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA) and the Ama Sathi Unified WhatsApp bot by the Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (CMGI) on Friday at Lok Seva Bhawan. The program’s main objectives were to increase participation with civil society stakeholders and increase public knowledge of the state government’s major citizen-centric governance initiatives.

CMGI Executive Director Surendra Kumar Meena emphasized the government’s resolve to aggressively involve civil society in spreading awareness of crucial welfare projects during his welcoming speech. He said that the Auto Appeal System, a ground-breaking tool intended to eliminate grievance redressal delays, has been officially approved by the Cabinet. This approach improves efficiency and accountability by ensuring that a service request is instantly escalated to a higher authority if a designated officer fails to provide a service within the allotted period.

An extensive technical workshop presented by ORTPSA Project Coordinator Pinaki Mohanty was part of the program. He gave a thorough explanation of public services, the necessity of the Right to Public Services Act, and its provisions under ORTPSA during the session. Additionally, he described the Auto Appeal System’s architectural structure and demonstrated how digital integration makes automated appeals possible. This invention greatly improves accountability and openness in public services by relieving individuals of the need to manually file appeals when deadlines are missed.

Mohanty also told the members about the Ama Sathi Unified WhatsApp bot, which seeks to enhance user experience and expedite the delivery of public services. In order to establish Odisha as a leader in digital governance and public accountability, he recognized the cooperative efforts of civil society organizations. A partner from Meta India gave a live demonstration of the Ama Sathi Unified WhatsApp bot.
