While only two days left for the Rath Yatra, the Carpenters are seen busy in finishing the construction of the chariots at Dhenkanal Rath Gada, located in Ganesh bazaar. From carpenters to artists and painters everyone were seen busy in their respective work.
Head Carpenter Ashok Mohapatra said, ” We are around 20-22 people including carpenters, artists, painters working here. My ancestors were constructing the chariots here and now I am doing it since last ten years, we are working from morning 8.00 am to almost 6-6.30 pm in the evening.”
The Rath yatra in Dhenkanal is historic and here two chariots are constructed for the Rath yatra.
Debottor Inspector of Dhenkanal Pradyumna Kumar Tripathy said, ” We have arranged fans, water and ors is also provided to the carpenters, artists and painters. Tiffin is also provided to them.”
