Odisha reported 3,053 new with the single-day exposure with the cumulative case to 2,29,387. The death toll has now reached 859, with 17 more patients succumbed to death due to Coronavirus within the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases reported from across 30 districts, 1,804 were detected from various quarantine centres, while 1,249 are local contact cases.
Around 1, 94,128 people have recovered from COVID-19 while 34,314 are active cases. According to the official reports 49,404 samples were tested on Friday for COVID-19 that include 7961 RT-PCR, 38385 samples via Antigen testing, and 58 samples via Truenat testing, taking the number of samples tested cumulatively across the state to 3395265.
According to the Health and Family Welfare department Khordha district reported 561 positive cases followed by Cuttack -256, Jharsuguda- 146, Kendrapada-115 and Keonjhar- 133.
Out of 17 deaths three were reported from Balasore and Dhenkanal districts, two deaths each from Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri while one each succumbed in Bhadrak, Ganjam, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh districts.
