Odisha witnessed a spike in daily COVID cases after a span of few days. While the cases were 105 on Monday, the cases doubled on Tuesday with 255 more active cases being detected in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported 151 new cases on Tuesday, 105 on Monday, 189 on Sunday and 193 cases on Saturday. This is for the first time in four to five days that Odisha croseed over 200 active cases in a single day.

According to the I & PR department, 152 of the new infections are from quarantine and 103 local contacts. As many as 54 among them are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda reported the highest of 106 new cases, followed by Mayurbhanj at 22. While 18 districts have reported new cases in single-digit, it is nil for 12 districts.
