Bhubaneswar: On Sunday,10th October, A public hearing was held with respect to environmental assessment for Dubuna Sakradihi iron ore and manganese mines of the State-run Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) for pro-duction of 3-MTPA iron ore and 05- MTPA manganese over a mining rent area of 1,332 hectares at Dubuna and Sakradihi village of Keonjhar district.
Total 47 nearby individuals, including former Keonjhar Sadar MLA Abhiram Naik and, BJD labor wing leader Bijaya Kumar Mahakud spoke in favor of mining.
Their primary point was that individuals are living in miserable economic conditions as the mines have been closed for the last 10 to 11 years and CSR activities of the company have moreover been hit appropriately.
However, a few participants specified the title of OMC Managing Director Balwant Singh, who was prevalent among the local public amid his short tenure as the Collector of Keonjhar.
They said they have trust in Singh in looking after the fringe development and issues of the public after the mines work. Reg.
