Cyclone Jawad has now turned into a deep depression. As a result, several places of Odisha are receiving heavy rainfalls for the past couple of days. Mayurbhanj district of Odisha also received heavy rainfall during the last couple of days. Thereby, Similipal National Park was closed for tourists for safety purposes for tourists.

Reportedly, the national park was closed for visitors for two days on December 4 and December 5 due to the impending Cyclone JAWAD following which it has remained closed due to continuous heavy rainfall. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure, said Similipal authorities.

Cyclone Jawad has now turned into mild depression and is not expected to make much of an impact apart from moderate rainfall. However, the farmers might be affected because of heavy rains during harvest time.
