A review meeting of different companies and agencies under the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (A&FE) Department was conducted by KV Singh Deo, the deputy chief minister of Odisha. During the meeting, topics including departmental goals met, openness, and productivity in official work were covered. Deo underlined the importance of interacting with farmers at the local level and offering them benefits, assistance, direction, and services.
In addition, he emphasized the significance of developing organic farming infrastructure, marketing assistance, and facilities for organic certification. The meeting resulted in the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between the state of Odisha and four corporations, namely Odisha Agro-Industries Corporation Limited, Odisha State Seeds Corporation Limited, Odisha State Cashew Development Corporation, and APICOL (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited), that are administratively under the control of the A&FE Department.
The objective of the MOUs is to improve coordination and cooperation in the fiscal year 2024–2025. The conference was attended by senior authorities, including Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary to the A&FE Department, Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Director of A&FP, and Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, Director of Horticulture & Soil Conservation & Watershed Development.
