Dhenkanal: On Thursday night a minor boy died while his father was critically injured after being attacked by a wild elephant at Mahuldagar village in Kamakhyanagar West Range of Dhenkanal district.
As per the report, the deceased identified as Rishi Jarei, and his father Rasanand Jarei were fast asleep on the verandah of their house last night. Suddenly, the elephant arrived and grabbed Rasanand with its trunk and threw him on the ground before trampling the child.
Both injured father and son were rescued by locals and rushed to Sub-divisional Hospital. After that the doctors there declared Rishi (minor boy) dead. As the condition of Rasanand worsened, he was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Dhenkanal.
