Dhenkanal Municipality has taken an initiative to beautify both the sides of the ‘Mahatma Gandhi Marg’ in the town streching from Dhenkanal Stadium chowk to Ganesh Bazaar. The civic body has placed more than four hundred flower and different plant pots on both the sides of the road, making the sides of the road beautiful as well attractive. The road is quite important because of several government offices including district Collectorate situated in one side of the road and this step by the civic body of the town has enhanced the beauty over there. 
Several varieties of Colourful flowering plants like marigold, zinnia, dalia, etc., and other plants placed there have now added more beauty there. Not only that the flower pots are also painted with different colours which is also looking quite enchanting.
Dhenkanal Municipality Executive officer Atanu Kumar Samanta said, ” As Mahatma Gandhi road is a VIP road, and all important offices especially Collectorate, SP office, DFO office, District Head Post office etc., are present and sufficient space was there so we did it and the main intention is to make Dhenkanal clean, green and beautiful.”
Pratiksha Sahoo, a native of Dhenkanal town said, ” This step taken by Dhenkanal Municipality is really appreciable, those flower and different plant pots placed on both the sides of the road from Dhenkanal Stadium to Ganesh bazaar is enhancing the beauty of the town.”
