Naveen Patnaik termed the State budget as the ‘double disappointment of double engine government.
“This budget is a double engine, double disappointment. I noticed that they have named more than 40 of my government schemes. They have just renamed them. I will go through in detail and then I will give my comments on the State budget,” Patnaik said in his first reaction to the State budget.
Tara Bahinipati, a Congress MLA, stated that this budget contains no fresh information. Nothing is available for farmers and women. They recently enhanced the current schemes by 10% to 20%. 42 schemes were renamed; no new schemes were created. He continued, “They have completely disappointed and betrayed the people.”
State of Odisha The first state budget of the Mohan Majhi government was presented to the Odisha Assembly on Thursday for the fiscal year 2024–25 by Chief Minister and Minister of Finance. Majhi gave the Assembly a budget of Rs 2,65,000 crore for the 2024–25 fiscal year, which is around 15% more than the estimated amount for 2023–24. In 2023–24, the yearly budget was Rs 2,30,000 crore.
