Dhenkanal: Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Dhenkanal has awarded Radhanath Rath Memorial Fellowship to Dibalin Behera, a student of Odia Journalism course and Satya Mohapatra Memorial Fellowship to Priya Prakash, a student of English Journalism course. Both have been given a citation and a cash prize for the fellowship.
The fellowship was awarded at a special function held at the IIMC conference hall. The chief guest was Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, Chairman, Odisha Police Recruitment Board.
At the beginning, the Regional Director of the institute, Dr. Anand Pradhan, mentioned the contribution of Radhanath Rath and Satya Mohapatra in the field of journalism.
Dr. Biranchi Narayan Seth, Assistant Professor, Department of English Journalism, IIMC Dhenkanal, introduced the guest while the program was coordinated by Dr. Chirasrota Jena, Assistant Professor, Department of Odia Journalism.
On this occasion, in the Health Journalism Writing Competition held earlier, Om Shubham Malik of Odia Journalism Department secured the first position while Bhubaneswari Tripathi stood second. Similarly, Manisha Swain and Aryendra Khan of English Journalism Department secured the first and second positions respectively and were awarded. The competition was organized by The Medics Association. Minerva Samal, representing the Medics Association, attended and presented the awards.
The institution’s Education Coordinator Jitendra Pati, Library Coordinator Subhankari Das, Academic Associate Sanat Padhi and Soumya Ranjan Bihara were present at the event.
