Draupadi Murmu's Village Gets Electrified

Draupadi Murmu is the candidate for the next presidential election nominated by the ruling political party of India Bhartiya Jananta Party. Moreover, Murmu resides from Odisha, thereby making the Odia people proud through the country. Recently, Draupadi Murmu’s village in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district finally got electricity connection on Monday.

After Murmu was nominated by ruling NDA at the Centre as its Presidential candidate and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik extended his BJD party’s support, the state government started electrification work to her ancestral village Uparneda Dungurisahi under Kusumi block on a war-footing.

The officials and workers of Tata Power North Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) reached Uparbeda and started erecting poles for drawing electricity lines to the village from Saturday.

By Sunday, 20 poles were erected and the houses near those were connected with electricity lines and the transformer installed at the end of the village. By Monday evening, electricity supply to the houses was charged.
