Following the BJP’s complaint claiming misuse of public office, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday ordered the transfer of Odisha IAS official Sujata R Karthikeyan to a non-public dealing department.
The national media announced that she had been transferred immediately.
Sujata, the wife of V K Pandian, the most powerful BJD leader, served as commissioner and secretary in the Department of Mission Shakti in Odisha.
A BJP central team petitioned the electoral body earlier in the day to remove her from her position due to her misuse of her government position.
