In a historic ruling two months ago, the Supreme Court eliminated electoral bonds, calling them “unconstitutional and manifestly arbitrary.” On Monday, however, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the electoral bonds system was a “success story” since it made it easier to track the money trail.
Prime Minister Modi continued, saying that the decision to abolish electoral bonds is one that, upon honest consideration, “everyone will regret,” as it has “completely pushed the country towards black money.” “If there had been no electoral bonds, who would have had the power to find out where the money came from and where it went?” Modi remarked in response to the opposition’s criticism of the BJP. The reason you are receiving a financial trail is because this is an example of electoral bonds’ success.
Modi said he never claims there are no deficiencies in decision-making, ANI reported.
