Bhubaneswar: In a significant move aimed at bolstering Odisha’s position on the global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) landscape, the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster and support the state’s reputation as a preferred hub for sourcing technology. This momentous partnership is poised to provide invaluable assistance to Odisha’s electronics and IT community, particularly the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), in their endeavors to establish a robust global presence.
The commendable leadership of the Odisha State government, characterized by its unwavering commitment, industry-friendly policies, and a nurturing ecosystem for technology entrepreneurs, has laid the foundation for this collaborative endeavor. By combining the state’s proactive approach with ESC’s extensive global network and initiatives, the partnership aims to empower Odisha’s businesses to venture onto the world stage, thus uncovering opportunities to engage with international customers.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director of ESC, shared his insights, “Our annual calendar of promotional events has been strategically crafted to ensure the participation of our industry members in major global trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meetings. This initiative is designed to not only elevate Odisha’s brand but also enhance the reputation of the Indian IT industry as a whole.”
The signing of the MoU between ESC and the Odisha Computer Application Centre is anticipated to be a game-changer. Mr. Ashwini Kumar Rath, Regional Chairman of ESC East, highlighted the significance of this partnership, saying, “This collaboration will not only empower Odisha’s technology entrepreneurs to expand globally but will also position Brand Odisha prominently on the global technology exports map.”
