A family court in Cuttack levied a penalty of Rs 5,000 each on MP-actor Anubhav Mohanty and his actress-wife Varsha Priyadarshini for deliberately delaying court proceedings in the marital discord case.
As per the reports, the court accepted petitions filed by the estranged couple over modification in the marriage venue and witness hearing but levied penalty of Rs 5,000 each on them. The court blamed the estranged couple for deliberately delaying court proceedings and imposed the fine. The court also condemned Varsha’s repeated absence during the hearing. While Anubhav managed to be present during hearings, the court noticed that Varsha and her lawyer often neglected and stayed out of hearings.
It also criticized Anubhav for errors on his wedding venue in court papers. While the couple had married in Bhubaneswar, he had mentioned Delhi as his wedding venue. “The court would have reached a conclusion by now if Varsha had been present during the hearings and Anubhav did not make an error on his wedding venue,” the court ruled and levied the fine for the deliberate delay.
