Odia poet and writer Gayatribala Panda is to be conferred with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award 2022 for her poetry collection ‘Dayanadi’.
The poetry collection ‘Dayanadi’ for 2022 is based on the Kalinga War. It contains 64 poems including a dedication and appendix.
Congratulating her, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “I wish you more success in the coming days in enriching the world of Odia literature.”
An engraved copper-plaque, a shawl and an amount of Rs 1,00,000 will be presented to Gayatribala at the award presentation function held by Kendra Sahitya Akademi.
The awards were announced for 23 languages including seven poetry collections, six novels, two story collections, two literary criticisms.
