Govardhan Puja was conducted at Siminai field under Siminai Panchayat of Odapada block in Dhenkanal district. The puja was started around 10.00 am in the morning. The puja was organised according the rituals and the puja was performed by Mahanta Kailash Parida. A few devotees came there to witness the puja. According to sources, first Giri Gobardhan was made using the clay and ‘khechedi’ and ‘kakera’ was offered as prasad, after that Gopuja was held.
Subrat Maharana, a local said, “This puja is being performed here since years, we are seeing this puja from our childhood and also participate in this puja.”
