Due to the Rath Yatra, the State government has proclaimed July 8 a holiday for banks, financial institutions, all government offices, revenue, and magistrate courts. Regarding this, separate notifications have been issued by the revenue and disaster management departments.
“On the occasion of Rath Yatra, the Government of Odisha has been pleased to declare that all State Government Offices, as well as Revenue and Magisterial Courts (Executive), shall remain closed on 08.07.2024 (Monday) i.e. the day following the Rath Yatra,” the notification read.
In a similar vein, due to the Rath Yatra, all banks and banking institutions will be closed on July 8. A two-day holiday for the forthcoming Rath Yatra on July 7 and 8 was also announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday. This year, on July 7 and 8, the Rath Yatra will be observed for two days. This is a rare occurrence that was last observed in 1971.
