Today, GRIDCO and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) signed a Power Sale Agreement (PSA) at Bhubaneswar in presence of Nikunja B Dhal, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Energy, Odisha.
With signing of the PSA, GRIDCO will procure 400 MW Wind Power through SECI from ISTS connected Wind Power Projects in the States of Karnataka & Gujarat, from FY 2024-25 for a period of 25 years at a tariff range of Rs.2.96 – 3.01 per Unit.
There is waiver of ISTS charges for procurement of this power for a period of 25 years. With this capacity addition, now GRIDCO has a total contracted Renewable Power Capacity of 5,203 MW including Wind Power 750 MW, Solar Power 1,941 MW, Small Hydro 129 MW, Large Hydro 2,363 MW & Biomass 20 MW.
In addition to meeting future Energy demand of the State, this Wind Power shall be helpful towards compliance of Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO).
