BHUBANESWAR: Hindustan Zinc Limited’s all-women mine rescue team is set to represent India at the XIII International Mine Rescue Competition, marking a significant milestone in the country’s mining history. This prestigious event, organized by Colombia’s National Mining Agency under the guidance of the International Mines Rescue Body (IMRB), will bring together 26 teams from around the globe to showcase their rescue skills.
The all-women team from Hindustan Zinc is the first from India to participate in this global competition, a remarkable achievement that highlights their expertise and commitment to mine safety. The competition is designed to test and promote the best practices in mine rescue operations, with the Hindustan Zinc team ready to demonstrate their skills in simulated emergency scenarios.
Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc Limited, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement. “Hindustan Zinc’s team marks a historic breakthrough as the first-ever all-women team from India to compete on this prestigious global stage, demonstrating their exceptional rescue skills and expertise,” he said.
