In conversation with Author Riya Rashmi Dash

Riya Rashmi Dash, presently pursuing her BBA from KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. She is Selenophile, loves to enjoy every small moment other life, and is a wanderlust. She is a writer and started her passion 2 years back and also aspires to be future HR Manager. She has worked in more than 165+ anthologies as co-author and compiler of 20+ books till now and more ongoing. She is also the Author of her solo book “Waiting to Exhal”She is also been part of national magazines, featured in author interview featured in Ne8x Litfest 2020, part of world record books. She is the Founder of The Opus Coliseum and is happy as her life is turning out now and hopes this continues as such. Also she’s been awarded being inspirational indian award, be the change awards, Indian Professional awards, FCP Excellence award, Kalam book of records holder, amazing world of book records holder , Vajra book of record holder , sahityakosh awards, india republic awards, bravo international holder, exclusive world records , achiever awards 2020-2021, SHE Awards 2021 and much more. She’s been also featured in Tiims Magazine. Interview Time had a detailed conversation with Riya, below are the excerpts,

Q 1 – What inspired you to start writing?

ANSWER: Poetry has been my main essence of life, the main reason behind all my happiness, achievements and success. Poetry has built me to a better person and has made me more expressive. Poetry was the first step in my ladder of journey where I used to pour my heart and soul out together expressing those unexpressed emotions and in the due course of time it eventually changed me to a beautiful individual which I’m happy of. I never expected to write ever …I just started with a small poem which was appreciated by everyone and that grace me motivation to write more and that’s where my writing journey started and I entered this industry.

Q 2- What makes your writing special from others?

ANSWER: Writing is something which we weave through our imaginations and creativity…so each and everyone’s piece is unique on its own. Coming to me whenever I write a piece I always imagine myself in that situation and then automatically my words flow through and I weave that in form of beautiful writings and that’s what makes my writings different from others. And I believe uniqueness of writing is something gives you a new self. And for me writing is my healer.

Q 3 – What are your other hobbies?

ANSWER: In my outside school life I explored everything I wanted. I was the rotary president in my school days, been delegates in MUNs , conducted MUNs as presiding officers, was a speaker and debater and won the district level debates during those days. Apart from that I’m a classical dancer in odissi which is the renowned dance form of Odisha and also a classical singer and also sung in all India radio with my two albums released which were based on local languages of my city. Apart from that I explored myself interning in various famous organization such as Abdul Kalam Foundation, Mycaptain etc. I also worked as a Fashion PR for a certain period of time through Mad Colour entertainment and got to know many insiders of our bollywood industry too.

Q 4 – Who are your motivations and why?

ANSWER: For my motivation I would say that music has been my best motivation at all times because that soothes me to the best and motivates to write more and do more, it even enhances my imagination and creativity which makes me more expressive. Apart from that my parents and my sister have always motivated me to do more and are the backbone behind my success.

Q 5 – Could you please share us your experience about writing?

ANSWER: Till date I’ve had a great experience in the field of writing. From putting baby steps in this industry I’ve achieved a lot more gradually with time. And I personally feel writing has made me a yet more sorted person than before and yes writing has gave me recognition and achievements which I never expected such as worked in more than 165+ anthologies as co-author and compiler of 20+ books till now and more ongoing. I’m also the Author of my solo book “Waiting to Exhale” and also been part of national magazines, featured in author interviews, featured in Ne8x Litfest 2020, part of world record books. I’m being also inspirational indian award, be the change awards, Indian Professional awards, FCP Excellence award, Kalam book of records holder, amazing world of book records holder , Vajra book of record holder , sahityakosh awards, india republic awards, bravo international holder, exclusive world records , achiever awards 2020-2021, SHE Awards 2021 and much more. Happy to see all these achievements in such a young age and in such a short period of time. This makes me proud and much more motivated to write even more and express.

Q 6- What were the initial challenges and how did you overcome them?

ANSWER: Every person goes through certain phases of challenges to reach to a certain height and same was for me too. Starting the journey of writing was never easy for me because there are people who always want you to criticize and put you down. There are people at times who just want to make you worthless which happened for me also , mental stress getting hampered is also something which ruins things at a certain point of time so yes I overcame Through all this issues and I stand happily with pride now that I achieved whatever I wanted to, I’m happy for being able to fulfill my dreams which I aspired for, desires which I craved for and bucket list which I made at a point of time but was kept at a corner and now it is getting fulfilled. Challenges makes you much stronger than before, it makes you more stronger to go through every obstacles and makes you tougher than before to face the world and any phase you come across.

 Q7- You are the founder of “The Opus Coliseum” what is this about?

ANSWER:” The Opus Coliseum” is my very own Publication…where we deal with all sorts of book publishing. We’ve completed 6 months with it and published 53 book titles in total which are available all over India and more titles are to come in future. Coming to why I started this I would say that writing had always my special corner in heart and that’s what lead me to start this

We’ve our own Magazine named Tridesta which is available in Amazon and many other websites as well. And also we organize offline and online open mics for the budding writers. We also have features in podcast area varied over Spotify , gaana, anchor etc

Q8- What are your future plans and objectives?

ANSWER: My future plan is to be a bestselling author one day and as I’m a BBA student right now I aspire to be a HR manager in a reputed Company someday.
